PTA Fundraiser

Hello Oakwood Families!

Each year the PTA has one fundraiser to earn money to continue activities and programs in the coming school-year. This year, we are doing a Read-a-thon! We need to raise $15,000 and we hope to log thousands of minutes read by Oakwood students at home and school combined! Check out the color flyer for details on prizes, incentives, and activities for top readers, top fundraisers, and top classes.

Read-a-thon Schedule:

• Feb 20: students receive Read-a-thon packet and bookmark minutes tracker and watch the Fundraiser Kick Off Video starring the Oakwood Student Council. Have your student reach out to friends and family to let them know their reading goal and ask them to donate to Oakwood if they reach it.

• Feb 24 - Mar 2: the school will be decorated to celebrate all week with Reading & Dr. Seuss themed activities in the lunchroom and classroom. Students will track their reading minutes daily on their bookmark. Students will return the payment sheet to donate and enter the prize drawing.

• Feb 28: Read-a-thon! Students can wear pajamas and bring books. Talk to your student’s teacher to see if you can come in to read to their class!

• Mar 3: Students will return the bookmarks to teachers with total reading minutes, teachers will record class minutes which will be added to student totals. Follow up with friends and family to collect donations for hitting the reading goal! Last day to donate.

• Mar 10: Top Readers, Top Fundraisers and Top Classes will be announced

• March: Prize drawing winners will be announced
